Academy of Performing Arts Closes After Twenty Years
Dear Friends of The Academy of Performing Arts,
Change is never easy, but it is inevitable. The time has come for the curtain to close on THE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. It is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Academy will not be re-opening in the Fall of 2021.
This was a difficult decision to make, but given the prolonged and on-going impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent staffing changes, it has become apparent that the Academy is no longer sustainable in its current form.
We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of local and surrounding communities and to share our passion for dance and the performing arts over the past twenty years. It has been an honor to create a space for individuals, young and young at heart, to develop and expand their own love of the arts, and to see them share that love with the next generation. It has been truly inspirational to witness the growth and development, creative and otherwise, of our Academy community over the years.
We are beyond grateful for the passion of our students, parents, staff, helpers, suppliers, and everyone who put their heart and soul into making THE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS a success. We could not have done it without you. I (Miss Luanna) and the rest of the Academy staff will continue to find ways to nurture and share our gifts and talents and love of the ARTS with our communities and we hope that all of you will do the same.
